Have you ever caught yourself whispering self-deprecating thoughts like “I’m not smart enough” or “I’m not attractive”? We’ve all been there, sending ourselves down a spiral of negative self-talk.
Yet, when I encourage people to practice saying nicer things to themself, they often resist, fearing they’d be lying to themselves. But isn’t it also a lie when we label ourselves as ‘stupid’ or ‘unattractive’?
What if we flip the script! Affirming all the smart things we have accomplished and the days we radiate with beauty. This is not about arrogance; it’s about acknowledging and valuing our own worth, our uniqueness, our special contribution to this world.
This practice is the most unselfish thing you can do, because the more you appreciate and value yourself, the more you increase your capacity to value and appreciate others.
So, dare to tell yourself about your own magnificence and beauty until it becomes an undeniable truth to your subconscious…JUST BECAUSE . Then, let that love radiate out to those around you.
