If you’re going through a divorce or a breakup, I want to say something simple but powerful:
Please be gentle with yourself.
The divorce process is one of the hardest transitions a human being can go through.
Not only are you navigating the external chaos, uncertainty around finances, concerns about your children’s wellbeing, the loss of your stability, but you’re also carrying an inner storm. A heart that aches. A mind that might be whispering cruel things: “I failed. How did I not see this coming? What’s wrong with me?”
THE DIVORCE PROCESS IS A LOT!!
If you feel overwhelmed, anxious, reactive, exhausted, scattered, or like you’re just barely holding it together… it’s normal.
I’ve been through it too.
Even with all the tools I had – breathwork, somatic healing, meditation – it was still hard. But those tools didn’t take away the pain… they helped me move through it with more ease. They gave me hope and helped me return to myself.
Why You Feel So Off Right Now
When life feels completely unknown. When our stability is threatened. Questions are running through our head about child custody, child support, and so much more!! Our nervous system kicks into high alert. That’s your fight-or-flight response doing its job; trying to protect you from danger.
If we don’t actively help our body come back to a place of safety and regulation, this heightened state becomes chronic.
And chronic dysregulation looks like:
- Anxiety that doesn’t go away
- Sleepless nights
- A short fuse
- Foggy thinking
- Feeling numb or like you’re floating outside your body
It’s like having an injury, let’s say a painful hip. If you keep walking on it without rest or healing, the pain gets worse. Emotional injuries are the same.
Breathwork Brings You Back to Center
Breathwork is one of the most powerful tools I know to reset the nervous system. It gently shifts you out of fight-or-flight and brings you into a state of grounded calm.
It’s not just about breathing, it’s about connecting to yourself. When we’re stressed or heartbroken, our breath becomes shallow and tight. We feel like we want to run or escape.
But when we slow the breath down, when we consciously return to it, we begin to feel anchored again. Clearer. Stronger. More able to handle what life is asking of us.
And even more importantly, we can begin to connect to something bigger than the chaos. Something inside us that’s still whole, still wise, still full of possibility.
This might be the time when grounding feels the most difficult. But it might also be the time you need it the most.
That’s why I created a FREE Divorce Recovery Toolkit—a set of supportive tools to help bring your nervous system back to center and reconnect you to your strength.
Inside, you’ll find:
- A cheat sheet with simple daily practices to calm your body and mind
- A 10-minute guided breathwork meditation to help you reset your nervous system once or twice a day
- A visualization meditation to help you manifest the version of you who is thriving, grounded, and clear during this process

And if you’re craving something more specific, like a meditation for heart healing, or simply feeling safe again, send me an email. I’m currently creating a Heart Healing Meditation because heartbreak isn’t just a metaphor. Our hearts really do feel like they’re breaking. But they can also heal. I promise you that.
Much Love,
Linda
