The last few months have been some of the hardest and most transformative of my life.
What began as a short period of helping my brother through a difficult transition turned into something much bigger. He has been navigating profound changes: losing his work partner of nine years, beginning to lose his vision, moving homes, and carrying an enormous workload while his world felt increasingly uncertain.
I thought I was stepping in for a few weeks. Months later, I am still here.
What has shifted, though, is not the situation but me.
When Life Asks You to Show Up Differently
For most of my life, my work has centered around breathwork, trauma healing, nervous system regulation, and guiding people through emotional and spiritual transitions. My days usually involve presence, softness, and deep listening.
So stepping into a printing production environment a few days a week felt… jarring.
At first, I noticed frustration rising in me. I questioned why I was there, why my life had taken this turn, and why something that felt so far outside my calling was now asking for my energy. And yet, I also knew this truth deeply: I could not let my brother suffer alone.
Helping him felt necessary. Human. Right.
So I asked myself a harder question:
If I truly embody calm, regulation, and grounded presence, why can’t I bring that energy anywhere?
It’s Not What You Do; It’s How You Do It
That question changed my attitude!
I realized that peace is not conditional. It doesn’t belong only in yoga studios, therapy rooms, or healing circles. Calm is not reserved for “spiritual” spaces.
If breathwork has taught me anything, it’s this: the nervous system responds to presence, not environments.
Slowly, instead of resisting where I was, I began to bring myself fully into it. Less control. More warmth.
A sense of community began to form. The energy shifted. The work started to feel meaningful, not because it was my lifelong calling, but because I was showing up as myself.
Helping Is Not Codependence
Another layer surfaced during this time: the need to know what’s next.
People were telling me I was being codependent. Others reminded me that true codependence is about disabling someone; not supporting them.
That distinction really made sense to me.
My brother, despite his vision challenges, wakes up at 4am every morning. He goes to work, struggles to read emails, trains his team, and works long, demanding days. He is not giving up. He is not avoiding responsibility.
He needs help.
And there is nothing unhealthy about helping someone when they genuinely need it. Community, support, and care are not weaknesses; they are part of being human.
Letting Go of the Need for Answers
What was exhausting me was the constant need to know how this chapter would end.
So I stopped asking.
I let go of timelines. I stopped forcing clarity. I chose to live one week at a time.
There is a part of me that will always love supporting others through breathwork, coaching, trauma healing, and nervous system work. That hasn’t disappeared. And now, there is also space for me to do something entirely different for a season, without abandoning who I am.
This is what surrender actually looks like.
Not giving up – but softening the grip.
Not disengaging – but trusting.
Not knowing – and being okay anyway.
Nervous System Regulation in Real Life
This season has reminded me that regulation is not something we practice only when life is calm.
It’s something we practice because life isn’t.
Breathwork has been my anchor through all of this, especially practices that emphasize slow exhalation and grounding. These tools don’t remove uncertainty, but they help the body feel safe enough to move through it.
And that safety changes everything.
A Gentle Shift in My Breathwork Offerings
Because my schedule and energy have shifted, I’ve made a small but intentional change.
Instead of hosting multiple early-morning live sessions, I’m now pre-recording one breathwork session each week, allowing you to practice at a time that best supports your nervous system.
You can find these sessions on my YouTube channel and practice whenever you need grounding, clarity, or simply a moment to breathe. Here is the link:

Trusting the Season You’re In
If you’re in a season where nothing looks like the plan you had…
If you’re helping someone you love and questioning yourself…
If you don’t know what’s next and are tired of trying to figure it out…
Sometimes the deepest healing happens not when we find answers, but when we stop demanding them.
Thank you for being here. Thank you for reading, for your messages, and for walking alongside me through these reflections.
Sending you warmth, steadiness, and a deep, grounding breath 🤍
Linda
